The Village of Somers is excited to announce that IEA, a radiator and cooling systems manufacturer, will be starting operations in the Somers Growth Area soon. Founded in 1985, IEA is a manufacturer of aluminum and copper-brass radiators, heat exchangers, and fluid cooling systems.
This is the first major manufacturer to locate in Somers in recent history.
IEA is converting a 500,000-square-foot warehousing facility to manufacturing use to reliably produce and deliver its high quality products. The site is located within the Flint 94 Commerce Center on County Highway E and the West Frontage Road.
This location is located just 4 miles north of their existing facility, allowing them to continue to build their skilled local workforce and maintain operational continuity. Alongside increased capacity, IEA is investing in advanced manufacturing technologies and new product lines.
“This is a major win for Somers. I am extremely proud to have a top manufacturer here, creating quality local jobs, supporting local industry, and diversifying our tax base” said Village President George Stoner. “This is the type of quality growth that I envision for our community”.
Production is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2026, and to be fully operational by early 2027.
