The Village was recently approved by the Canadian Pacific Railroad to commence work under the railroad tracks on 12th Street (east of J&Ms, west of the US Post Office).
The purpose of the work is to bore the new water main to connect with the water transfer station that will be constructed near the Fire Station.
Preparation work has already commenced. On Friday, June 19th, crews will begin boring beneath the tracks. Once boring starts, crews must continue until the work is completed. At minimum, the Village is expecting the work to take at least 24 hours. Neighboring properties should expect noise beyond the Village’s typical construction hours, and traffic delays for road users.
Once the work is completed, then crews will monitor the work for at least 3 days to ensure there are no issues with the tracks.
We apologize for the noise and any inconvenience. If you have any questions, please contact the Village Administrator Jim Hurley at 262-859-2822.
