Invenergy has filed a preliminary engineering plan with the Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) in the first step to filing for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (CPCN) to build a 1,210 MW gas turbine power plant in Kenosha County.

Their preferred site is on lands that are currently in the Town of Paris, within the Village of Somers growth areas, just south of the Flint 94 Commerce Center. If the project is approved by the State Public Service Commission (PSC), those lands would be transferred into the village or city as per a 2017 intergovernmental agreement.
