On Oct. 21, representatives from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections, Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office and Kenosha County Court came in front of the Somers Village Board to discuss the county’s purchase and lease of the house at 11312 Burlington Road to the Wisconsin Health Services for their Supervised Release Program.

The program allows for qualifying residents convicted of violent sexual offense to be involuntary committed once they have served their prison sentences. The three-bedroom home was purchase by Kenosha County for that purpose and could hold as many as three such individuals.

The residents are monitored by the Department of Health Service and subjected to the Sex Offender Registry Program, GPS monitoring, searched, polygraph, unannounced visit and possible revocation. They are not allowed outside the home without direct supervision.

The full presentation is available at right.

A Guide to Wisconsin’s Sex Offenders Registry is also available.

The Supervised Release Program has proven to be very successful. As of  Sept. 1, 2025, of the 364 clients that were placed, only 3 were convicted of a new sexual crime.

Residents can check the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry online for additional information.
